some thoughts on the weekend

1) i love conference weekend. it fills my heart and gives me rest! one of my favorite messages from general conference - Second counselor in the First Presidency, President Uchtdorf said, "When I think of the Savior, I often picture Him with hands outstretched; reaching out to comfort, heal, bless, and love. And He always talked with — never down to — people. He loved the humble and the meek and walked among them, ministering to them and offering hope and salvation.

"This is what He did during His mortal life; it is what He would be doing if He were living among us today; and it is what we should be doing as His disciples and members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. … As we emulate His perfect example we can become His hands; our eyes, His eyes; our heart, His heart."

2) my parents came to town! they are in riverside with my brother's family, but we will be meeting up with them tonight and to spend a day at disney land tomorrow- i have never been to disneyland, so i am SUPER STOKED.

3) p turns 2 on wednesday. i can't believe how big she is and how much fun she is. i was reading an interviev with tina fey and steve carell in Parade yesterday and steve carell (one of my favorites)spoke about his kids and said, "whatever age they're at, i'll pause and think, 'it can't get better than this.' then they get older and even more interesting." this is SO true i am amazed at how fun p gets each month. i love seeing her grow and learn. which brings me to ...

4) I LOVE being a mom. when we fonund out we were having p i was scared and i didn't know what i was going to do. i NEVER thought of my self as the mothering type...WELL i SO AM.

5) i eat too many sweet treats. i REALLY LIKE THese. and i only really get them 1x a year, so why not eat 3 or 4...right?!?!

6) taxes are done!!! whoot whoot!

7) we experienced out first california quake. it was a bit crazy i could HEAR my house moving. we are on the 2nd floor, so it felt like we were going to tip over. it was unlike ANYTHING i have experienced. we were fine and nothing was damaged. in mexico where the quake originated (200 miles from here) the quake registered 7.2, one of the biggest quakes in recent history.

8) got my new anthro catalog & love it.
