another skirt

it has been rather warm, so i decided to make penelope another play skirt with some extra fabric and trim i had. here it is!

these adorable moccasins are my favorite of penelope's shoes. i traded up with freshly picked for these and the super practical crayon roll above at the beehive bazaar.

i traded with eager hands for lovely trims and vintage fabrics. i got these vintage quilt squares for a twin sized quilt for penelope's big girl bed.

welcome to california

my parents came to california to visit us and my brothers family living in riverside, ca! it was so much fun. i guess it has only been a little over a month since we last saw them, but it was really fun to have them see out new home and play with us for a few days! here are some pics.

here they are all the way from utah, i think they were ok getting away from all that snow for this. the weather was 70 an sunnnnnny!

we went to the zoo and saw many animals. it was the first time i got to see the pandas, so i was pretty stoked about that.

1. raincloud mobile by evie ivy overstreet. this is a buddy of mine from ut. she makes really fun sewn items that i CAN'T get enough of!

2 pale blue modern wall clock by uncommon. i am definitely buying this beautiful clock for my home. mmm!
3 play date floor puzzle from moomah. isn't this just the most rad puzzle ever. they have big pieces and some of penny's faves...monkeys, trucks!
4 monsieur hulot mon oncle oil painting by matteart. love it! and i want a bicycle like his for p to ride with me.

5 heart eggs! there is a little tutorial for these suckers on the freepeople blog. i would make 'em for bryan on sunday, but he doesn't like fried eggs. maybe i could rig heart shaped pancakes.

new doll for p

penelope is so cute these days. she is such a little mommy. she loves babies! she loves feeding them, wrapping them up, talking to them in a baby voice (have you ever heard gibber-jabbler from a baby in a baby voice?) anyway, we have a shortage of dollies. i made her this rag doll to be a sister to her doll from evie ivy overstreet below.

v-day prep vol. 2

here are some fun tutorials i came across for valentine's day.

this little skirt was SO easy to make! thanks to susan at freshly picked for this awesome tutorial. i made penny's a bit short, so i may add a little 2" trim or some bloomers! when she bends over it is ALL DIAPER BABY!

the begginings

confession time, i haven't ever completed an afgan! i know... it is crazy! i have always had little patience for a big crochet or knit project. i like things that i can start and finish in one hour... or at very most one day. lately, however, i have had a desire to blanket my family.... SO, i started an afgan for pen. i decided that i wouldn't rush it and i will only do a row or 2 a night. it is coming a lot really well so far and i am excited to see where it goes from here. i will keep you posted.
