slow going

i have felt in slow motion since i got back from utah. i don't know why, but i am hopeful that this rut does not last long. here are a few things that we have been up to the last week.

we saw the new dolphin show at sea world (quite the presentation.) it was a lot of fun.

at our craft show we made rosette cuffs & necklaces (again.) loving it!

penelope came to me with one of her baby socks, wanting it on. look how it fits. my baby is getting way too big.

we went to la jolla cove with 2 very cute boys.

stopped by and saw the seals. i love children's pool.

stamping it up.



penelope discovered my bike helmet. she doesn't have one of her own yet, but she's already decided that the bike helmet IS IT!

p.s. we got a mattress for penelope's bed and she is sleeping in it like a champ. i TOTALLY need to get to work on p's quilt and finishing up her room. goal: finish penelope's room by august.

isn't this quilt SO sweet! i ABSOLUTELY LOVE small magazine. if you have a little person close to your heart, then this magazine is for you. it is so beautifully put together and this is a little picture from their latest issue. love the masks, love the bloomers but i can't get over how adorable the quilt is that they are sitting on (the one on the left.) BEAUTIFUL.

ps the quilt on the right is rather like the one i tied this weekend with my mother-in-law...polyester...enough said.

i may be away for a few days as i make my way back to the golden state...stay tuned for my new renegade craft fair goods!

spring bijou 2010 & vol II of trip pictures

the bijou market went up roughly 12 hours ago and came down approximately 2 hours ago.

what a fun day! i bought way more than i should met some really rad peeps and caught up with some pals from long ago. i feel happy and very tired.

in other news i will be heading home in a couple of days. it has been a good trip. i have really loved seeing my little brother again and i love that he speaks swe-english. after my days with him i have decided that he's gonna be A-OK. he definitely has his head on straight. i am wishing him good luck with his new job and upcoming year at BYU. girls, go get 'em.

when we left utah & moved to sunny sd i was really nervous and didn't know what i would do with out my family being so close. however, i have felt very lost being without my other half. bryan seriously completes me and makes my life as a mom 100% easier. i am happy to be going home.

here is the first installment of pictures from our trip.

this girl turned 12! i cannot believe how old my little sis is.

we went up to hooper and enjoyed some time with the sparks fam. we quilted a VERY retro polyester quilt pieced by bryan's great-grandma (pictures to come.) i will just tell you that i am glad joann's still carries a few bolts of polyester fabric right out of the 70's.

we went to the hill aerospace museum-p LOVES planes

while quilting we found this treasure HAND STITCHED by bryan's grandmother. this quilt inspires me & i love pretty much everything about it.

tanya & i are thinking of dividing it and making a quilt with this quilt framed in the center, because we both love it equally and want in on the beauty.

ps i have been having some serious camera fails, but i hope to have graduation pictures of megan & zach, airport pictures of my long lost brother now returned and speaking a hybrid of swedish & english, and memorial day pics.

krystal did post a pic of p at their memorial day bbq here. thanks for having us over swans!

another trade with jenny o

jenny o was also kind enough to trade some of my goods for this beautiful intaglio print. jenny and i were in the printmaking program together and i really like her work. good luck at grad school jenny!

a necklace for eve and a trade for me

remember this rain cloud mobile i wanted? eve & i did a little trade. we met up at the bean museum and let our kids run around a bit and made the trade. i got this ADORABLE mobile and a tee shirt that p is now living in (i will get a photo later.)

thinking about

i have a bunch af new pics and stories to share about our visit to utah thus far, but i can't seem to get the pictures off my little seester's point and shoot that i borrowed in lieu of my forgetting my own camera (grrrr...this fact won't surprise those of you who know me. i ALWAYS FORGET THAT THING.) until i can share my personal stuff, i will show the things i am loving &/or lusting after these days.
i kind of want to recover my couch with yellow checks. i recently found this bantam couch onf design within reach & i am sort of obsessed with this couch. the good thing is that my couch looks a bit like it. we recently replaced the feet on our couch with a skinnier style... not as skinny as the ones on this couch (bryan said they wouldn't look good, because they would be too skinny for the couch and now i am shaking my fist at him.)

isn't this a lovely pouf? i would like to make a couple for sitting on in my front room...or maybe one for p's room....hmmm. find the tutorial here on design sponge.



i've been thinking about buying & i have decided that i may not be able to live without one. i have really been wanting to work with instant film lately. this fuji film instax camera can be found here.


i dont' know if anyone else is obsessed with jcrew's crewcuts, but i think they are so sweet. i may try my hand at making a dress similar to this for p.
